Stay In Touch: Sony Ericsson P990i

“Leave your PC at the office whilst traveling! Connect to the wireless network in you favorite cafe, send and receive emails on the go, browse the internet and listen to mp3s or your favorite radio station.
Stay in touch with your colleagues and friends with this 3G smartphone.”

After taking a look at the M600i I decided that the bigger P990i would be better for me as it had WiFi, considering that GPRS/3G data transfer is still rather expensive…

When I got the P990i it crashed quite a few times in the first couple of days. After installing the software update from Sony Ericsson’s web site the problems went away, so I recommend updating as soon as you can. One thing that disappointed me though is that Apple seems to have no updates in sight for iSync to support the newer Symbian OS used by Sony Ericsson and a few other hand set manufacturers so its a matter of grinding your teeth and being patient. Another annoying fact is that Sony Ericsson does not have software for the Mac!

Other than that I am happy to have chosen the P990i and it is rather convenient surfing using WiFi hot-spots instead of relying on GPRS/3G…

Getting Around On 2 Wheels: Piaggio Zip 50cc

“Light, agile and extremely easy to ride. With its height-adjustable seat to ensure comfort, underseat storage for a full face helmet, lockable glove and mobile compartment, wide footrest and bag hook, getting around has never been so easy.”

I got myself this little 2-wheeler a few weeks ago and I am really loving every minute of scooting around London with this little bike. It took some getting used too after riding to work and back on the London Underground but it was well worth the investment. No more waiting for trains in stuffy and packed stations. Although it has a lot going for itself riding on a motorcycle has its disadvantages too (like getting knocked off by a car), but they are out-weighed by the freedom of going anywhere, anytime on your own time. Especially in summer it is a joy riding around and feeling the breeze… in winter… well haven’t done that and am about to find out. I got the gear for rainy days already and I must say its not bad at all. Even if it rains down heavily the parker and the water-proof trousers keep the water out. Lets see what the winter will be like for me an my little scooter…
